It's been a quiet day...
Jun. 8th, 2004 09:40 pmOK, so I slept most of the day (much like
nattydreadi, but for different reasons: he's on the night shift - I just found it intolerably hot and didn't get to sleep until about 8.00am.
It seems that Earth Spirit may be running again, and of course we have been approached to provide the cover for it - which is an interesting point as we've had trouble with payment in past years, but he organiser apparently seems sorted to get us the fee up front and in advance. It's a big duty for us - it takes just aboput all the resources we can muster to do it, but it's a fun duty and we like being there, so we'll probrably say yes with some provisos.
The main news for the small community of bunker enthuiasts today has been that a person has broken into the former-nuclear-bunker-museum. Before people start, it's a museum - not a fortified stronghold anymore, it doesn't evidently have 24/7 securrity guards and it certanly doesn't have the armed men and the machine gun nests it would have had in wartime. Sounds really obvious doesn't it - well, obviously not to the all of people on uk.rec.subterranea, some of whom seem to be coming across as dimmer than usual today.
In other news - I have two sisters. One of them (
reallyfrank) I speak to a lot, the other's evidently some sort of ghost-sister.
And finally, I like bad tase jokes, and some of these are in pretty bad taste. They're not work safe.
