So, Beh' and I went on the Plinth. I read him stories, we had a picnic. At the same time, [livejournal.com profile] ephrael & [livejournal.com profile] freddiefraggles had a picnic near the base of the plinth, with Honey, Bear, Knightly, William, T'dih, Bikkit, Elg & Panda.

If you'd like to see me refuse to strip and instead read Mr Tickle to some drunken hecklers, then you can do.

  • [livejournal.com profile] endis_ni, for writing "Tea & Teddy Bears".

  • [livejournal.com profile] reallyfrank, for booking the three of us into the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. FOR FREE!

  • [livejournal.com profile] psion_x, for loan of a little amplifier (although I decided not to use it at nearly the last minute)

  • ArranPaul Audio, for loan of the rest of the PA kit, even though I didn't use it in the end.

  • All at the One & Other project, for looking after us and making us feel so at home as part of the project.

  • All the other authors of the books I read, and all those people who suggested books for me to read out and supported me getting there and back!

Relatedly, I've discovered that although Virgin Trains are fast, comfortable and run from about half a mile from my house - I prefer the trains run by NXEC, as they're using older rolling stock that I can sit in without my shoulders being squashed against the walls, they have more space in the luggage racks and they have free WiFi on all their trains (Virgin have WiFi on some trains, but it's only free in First Class).

Virgin/Cross Country trains have no leg room (and I speak as a not particularly large fellow) and also, not to put too fine a point on it, smell of poo a great deal of the time.

Also the bike racks are brain dead.

NXEC Are, as you say, a whole bunch better.
