redhillian: (pierce)

A new meme of sorts has appeared, when the [livejournal.com profile] childfree community gets trolled (which happens about once a week), the troll gets recipes overwhelming their inbox rather than hatred or giant pictures of tubgirl.

This prompted a sizable group of members to discuss the possibilities of recipe sharing, but without the "I need something for my picky-eater children" comments that apparently a lot of other recipe communities have, so they've created [livejournal.com profile] childfreefoods, a place which the community profile states is not just for the childfree, but is open to all as long as the principle of the thing is respected.

So far it's looking good and there's a nice selection of recipes going up, I just bneed to find some good ones of my own to add.

If anyone's interested in looking in - there's the links.

How about questions along the lines of "I need something for my picky, fussy, awkward husband"

I havent read childfree for a while...

Would love to join, 'cept there's one problem - is there a way to post just in the community, or do all my thoughts get broadcast through the community from the instant I join? I can't find an obvious way to post!

This link is the FAQ section for communities, but in short if you join only your posts specificly to that community are seen in that community.

I loved childfree!

I loved childfree when I first found it - I liked the idea of making a positive choice to not have children, and finding people who wouldn't say "you'll change your mind" or "you'll regret it when you're older" or "there's so many things you can't do if you don't have children" (which I never really understood... There are so many more things you can't do in the same way if you have children). I accept that I might well change my mind and occasionally I think maybe it wouldn't be so bad to have a baby, but I'd appreciate being left to know my own mind...
