He's a good author, and the Artemis foul books very well thaught out and written, but getting others to write sequels has never worked, because the new author cant really understand everything the old one is thinking.
Just in the process of reading the Dune Prequels done by the herbert sprog, and they just aint that great. To be fair, there not *bad* novels, but there just not up to the standard of the originals. In dune, it seems Junior cant really do the Machiavellian politics.
I'd like to love it. But what about the end of Mostly Harmless? If you believe the book, everything is winked out of existence. If you believe the radio version (which I take to be the more original, as it came first originally) they all ended up in a multiverse variety of happy endings.
