Enjoyed it a lot.

Am still seriously looking into contacts*, despite having to get half lenses out of peoples eyes.

*This will of course become looking through contacts...

Did the hat fit Em? Does she want the precious hat?

It is a very impressive hat, but I'm afraid its too big!
I have a small head, with no hair presence for it to hold on to.
I'll look after it until I see you next, or I could send it home via Maelstrom with a designated minion.

I realised recently, that laser eye surgery would have been cheaper than getting the prescriptions changed in my specs. Next years bonus is definitely going on getting the eyeball (should only need one) zapped.

Apparently, the smell of burning eye jelly is the worst bit...

ewwwwwwwwww, wonder what burning eye jelly actually smells like?

I'm not keen to find out, but I suspect it's like burning hair, burning skin, burning tissue matter etc... These I know from experience are all bad things to smell.

I seriously considered that a few years back, but it was going to cost me £3000 (three thousand pounds), and would have left me still probrably needeing glasses for driving, and I'd lose a good chunk of my night vision. Which I wasn't up for.

Good points! It'd down to £395 per eye now, and I'd only need the one done -so would be at considerably lower risk of permanent spackerification.

They were offering "from £750 an eye" at the time, but I have more knackered eyes than can be done on the cheap, but it wasn't the cost so much, it was the still having to wear glasses and losing the low light vision that put me off.

That said, if the tech keeps improving as it has over the past 5-10 years, I'll have a look again in a few years time and see where we're at.

But, I am noe happily looking through contacts, and it's... well, ok actually.

It turns out to be not-too-bad actually, I'm well over the squeamish bit of putting things in my eye, I'm just trying to fight my way past the iron-clad blink reflex of my forefathers.
